Hi there!

Welcome to sharicaudron.com. I’ve been a self-employed writer ever since I was fired from my first and only full-time job back in the era of curly perms and pillow-sized shoulder pads.

Over the years, I’ve written a bunch of stuff, including articles and essays for national magazines, an international humor column, speeches for CEOs, and two books: WHAT REALLY HAPPENED and WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?, named one of the Best Books of the Year by the Rocky Mountain News and chosen for Entertainment Weekly's MUST List.

Along the way, I’ve been honored with several awards, including the Colorado Book Award for WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?, a Maggie Award for best magazine column from the Western Publications Association, and the Christine White Creative Nonfiction Award for Excellence in Literary Journalism.

I’ve got a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State University, a Master’s in applied communication from the University of Denver, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College.

When I’m not writing or making excuses for not writing, I teach narrative nonfiction at The University of Denver and Lighthouse Writers, work with fascinating range of people as a writing coach, and speak about passion, writing, creativity and storytelling to a diverse range of audiences.

Some other tidbits:
I’m a Taurus, recovering business journalist, and San Francisco native who traded the California coast for the Rocky Mountains 20 years ago. I like good sheets, French Burgundy, California Cab and Steve Martin. I pretend to know about books I’ve never read, and I’ve read books I’d never admit to. Ordinary people impress me more than celebrities. I believe happy endings are worth the wait. And I’m jealous of Barbie collectors for reasons that are tough to explain here, but you’ll understand if you read WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?
