| Plotting Your Career Story
A lot of external factors influence career decisions—money, location, a recruiter’s promise, a professor’s expectation. But how do you decide what career path is the right one for you? How do you pro-actively make a choice that honors your talents, passions and preferences?
In this problem-solving, pen-to-paper workshop, we’ll lead you through a series of exercises to help you plot the story of your career. You’ll start by understanding how your story began—i.e., who you are and where you are now professionally. Then, you’ll envision the crowning achievements or “plot points” in your story. Finally, we’ll review how to start making the kind of job decisions that lead to happy endings. Don’t wait until graduation to manage your career. Put the hero of your story into motion today.
This seminar can be modified to fit various time constraints--from a 45-minute lunchtime workshop, to a daylong seminar.
